6 Novembre 2025Annual Technical & Steering Committee Meeting of the RECONNECT Project in Treviso
The RECONNECT project consortium met this week in Treviso, Italy, on October 6-7, to assess the progress made so far and plan future activities. During these two days of intensive work, the partners had the opportunity to review the results achieved in the first year of the project, share experiences, and discuss best practices to consolidate the initial success.
The discussions primarily focused on defining concrete actions for the coming months, with particular attention to the effectiveness of the technologies implemented and the promotion of circularity in various industrial and social sectors. Another key theme was strengthening sustainable solutions, with an emphasis on creating an economic model that is equitable, resilient, and environmentally respectful.
The meeting marked a pivotal milestone in the consortium’s shared mission: to promote circularity in the Mediterranean region, foster industrial and social symbiosis, and support practices related to the blue economy. Special emphasis was placed on cooperation between local authorities, institutions, and businesses, with the goal of developing a growth model that can be replicated in other Mediterranean regions.
The outcomes discussed during the meeting are crucial for the continuation of the project, which aims to positively influence local policies and improve industrial practices in line with the goals of the 2030 Agenda for Sustainable Development. In addition to short-term interventions, a long-term strategic vision was outlined, aimed at consolidating the progress made and expanding the application of circularity principles across the Mediterranean.

“Attending the Annual Technical & Steering Committee Meeting of the ReConnect project in Treviso was an inspiring and enriching experience. The event provided a valuable opportunity to exchange views and best practices among partners and stakeholders from different countries, all united by a shared commitment to promoting innovation and sustainability within the Blue Economy.
What stood out most was the collaborative spirit that characterized the discussions. Participants highlighted the importance of building stronger connections between regions, sectors, and competences in order to address the common environmental and economic challenges faced by coastal and marine areas.
The ReConnect project plays a key role in this process, fostering cooperation and knowledge transfer across borders and helping to develop shared strategies for sustainable and circular growth.
The meeting combined informative presentations with interactive sessions that encouraged open dialogue and mutual learning. This participatory approach created an excellent platform to reflect on how research results and innovative solutions can be effectively applied within companies and local communities.
Overall, the event confirmed the relevance of ReConnect as a driving force for collaboration and long-term impact. It is more than a European project—it is a living network of people, ideas, and initiatives working together towards a more resilient and sustainable future for the Blue Economy.”
