SymCRAFT Tools
Operational instruments supporting the Pilot Actions
The SYMCRAFT Tools are practical instruments developed within the project SYMCRAFT - Creative craft for industrial symbiosis in circular economies, co-funded by the Interreg CENTRAL EUROPE Programme.
The project aims to strengthen circularity in the textile, wood/furniture and agro-food sectors, enhancing the strategic role of the craft sector as a driver of industrial symbiosis, capable of transforming industrial waste and by-products into new economic, social and environmental value
Why these Tools
SYMCRAFT pilot actions address three core challenges:
- Reusing industrial waste for the creation of new handicraft products;
- Developing eco-business models for products and services based on industrial waste;
- Designing cooperation models and agreements between industry and the craft sector to enable circular collaboration;
The Tools available on this platform are specifically designed to provide concrete support in tackling these three dimensions.
What they are for
These instruments enable companies, artisans, designers, business support organisations and stakeholders to:
- Assess the reuse potential of industrial waste and residual materials;
- Structure circular product ideas and development paths;
- Design sustainable business models based on circular economy principles;
- Set up cooperation schemes between industry and handicraft actors;
- Formalise collaboration agreements;
- Generate structured reports supporting pilot testing and result validation.
Direct link to the Pilot Actions
The SYMCRAFT Tools are not theoretical frameworks, but hands-on operational instruments, directly connected to the project's three Pilot Actions:
- Pilot 1 - Reusing industrial waste for new products;
- Pilot 2 - Developing eco-innovative business models;
- Pilot 3 - Testing cooperation models between industry and handicraft
Throughout local and transnational pilot testing, these tools will support:
- matchmaking between companies;
- co-design processes;
- solution validation;
- development of replicable guidelines at transnational level.
